Tracking Methods That Fit a PE Period

A Realistic 30-Minute Period

  1. 0:00–0:03 — cards handed out with warm-up instructions. A card box per class makes this about a ten-second task.
  2. 0:03–0:08 — warm-up; teacher starts the activity in the scanner app.
  3. 0:08–0:25 — the running block: students lap the course, the teacher or an aide scans at the checkpoint while watching the class.
  4. 0:25–0:28 — cool-down; cards back in the box.
  5. 0:28–0:30 — line up. The scans sync on their own. Total tracking time: about two minutes.
